    Good lord, this app makes me feel stupid. I’m sorry if everyone else knows this, but I’m trying to do a very simple thing: remove that awful vinyl skip sound *from the pedal default*-not create a preset without it. Is this possible? When I edit “Vinyl (Default Settings)” in Neuro, it only lets me save a new preset.

    I’ve always wanted to ask you this…what are your top 5 favorite lo fi pedals of all time?

    • @TriPedalReviews
      @TriPedalReviews 2 дня назад

      Top 5 is a hard one because there are so many great ones and there is a wide range of types of lofi (Vinyl, Tape, Radio, Glitching, Digital etc...) So this is giving a broad consideration to the various types. Artifakt - Best all arounder, most utility, community involvement, presets. Sounds great and does a lot more than lofi. Does the most with signal dropouts, creative and unique ideas that other Lofi pedals haven't tackled. It's a good blend of fixed options and a modular approach that is more accessible than pedals like Beebo or Zoia. Chase Bliss Gen Loss MKII - I've had every Gen Loss version and the newest iteration is the one I'd choose over all of them, it's great for tape style lofi and has lots of interesting aux functions. Stereo functionality is awesome. Kinotone Ribbons - Very imaginative in it's creation, Jaak listens to the community and updates based on requests, along with whatever whacky stuff they come up with. It sounds awesome and is inspirational. Stereo functionality is also awesome. While the interface is a tad convoluted, it's not too bad once you learn it. Chase Bliss Lossy - Wasn't a fan at first, but it's a very unique idea and is the first pedal to tackle digital artifacts from MP3 conversion, and somehow made that crappy sound pleasing to listen to and mess around with. It has grown on me. CopilotFX Anchorman - For radio its a toss up for me between Artifakt and this pedal, but since I've already mentioned artifakt, I'd go with this one. It's the first pedal I've seen to incorporate actual radio and control of those aspects via a pedal and it's just fun af to play around with.

    • @TriPedalReviews
      @TriPedalReviews День назад

      @@andreascomissiong9288 If my list was limited to vinyl style top 5, Tefi would be in there. My 2 favorite in that specific style are the Melusine V4 and Golden Era. But, most of the more recent lofi pedals that have come out do both Vinyl and Tape, both Melusine and GE are limited to just vinly. I believe you mentioned noise specifically, and that pedal has noise you can't dial out. The newer version might have solved that problem though. Don't know as I haven't picked it up and probably wont due to owning the GE already.

      @@TriPedalReviews yea for me personally I’m looking for a pedal that has the best wow , flutter, warped vibrato sounds. Some pedals I’ve tried before didn’t have it to the intensity I like so between the kinotone ribbons and the golden era / Malinconia which one do you think takes the cake for that sound specifically ?

    • @TriPedalReviews
      @TriPedalReviews День назад

      @@andreascomissiong9288 You wont have issues with intensity on either one, they'll both go sea sicker than you'll ever need. I'd suggest taking a listen to the Wow/Flutter sections on my Golden Era demo and then this demo for the ribbons and see which one appeals to your more. Ribbons had a firmware update that modified the wow/flutter behavior from this video, which in my opinion was a great improvement. I don't have a favorite between the two in that regard. ruclips.net/video/o9jLmbCNclc/видео.html

    Hi I just bought this pedal and I’m waiting to receive it. Do you know if there is an attack parameter where I can set it to act like the POG 2 does (violin type of a sound)? I didn’t buy the pedal for that purpose but it would be nice to get tones like Kurt Rosenwinkel…

    • @TriPedalReviews

      It's been a hot minute since I've messed with a POG2, so I'm not sure. But I believe the only parameter the POG2 allows you to set for that type of thing is attack time? If that's the case, that can be controlled in the envelope block.

The only exceptions may be the purely modular pedals (beebo and zoia). But, purely modular approaches have a large learning curve, and you have to develop a lot of the tailored stuff yourself. This one isn't that hard to learn. It's a good balance. This one also has strong community involvement so as time goes on, people will dial in more and more presets that mimic lofi pedals already out there. I've done a few myself already;

      @@TriPedalReviews I make kinda spooky Luigi’s mansion inspired music so I long for a pedal with that weird wonky detuned tape sound to give my playing that extra feel of being ghostly nostalgic and whimsical. I have a deco and I love but it I wish it wasn’t so subtle I want something that can either give me more controls over those effects or just in general have a greater intensity with the depth , wow , flutter, warble, etc…. The Albert glowfly was recommended to me recently, have you tried it ?

    Awesome video with so many possibilities, your explanations of some functions that were a mystery are now Elements for my every crazier sonic creations I dare not share.

    Vinyl seems in stereo to have a stereo panning R and L. Have you found a way to change this setting?

      It doesn't pan in the traditional sense, it just has random output on L/R for the noise generation. No way to defeat this that I know of aside from just running mono.

    I love all the extra functionality, but all the new pedals are coming with USB C ports on them- and I don't have USB C on my computer. If you can't connect them to your computer- you lose a ton of functionality and they're just no longer worth what they cost. So- it appears my next pedal will be a new laptop instead. It will cost a bit more than a pedal- but not much. Tbh you can get a good used/restored laptop for about the same amount you spend on a decent pedal- 250-300$.

      You should just need a USB type A to C cable. The pedal comes with that cable. Another option would be an adapter. Cable would run around $10 if you had to buy it yourself (which you don't need to because it's supplied). An Adapter is around $5 to 6 dollars if you went that route.

    That's pretty comprehensive. Thanks a lot! In the Signal failure block, I imagine one could use a fast square or random clipped lfo, no bounce, and it should give a kind of granular result I guess.

      I'd agree, you can do the same thing with the trem block as well. High depth, random clipped LFO.

    This video is a tutorial going over the software editor. There is a lot of talking. If you just want to hear cool sounds then check my other demo below. ruclips.net/video/Jt3YzUwTRXY/видео.html Will do a follow up video in the future walking through preset creation.

    I just got this pedal recently and was a bit disappointed to find I couldn't change what Octaves are used. It seems to be hardcoded to +1 and -1 Octave. I was hoping I could assign an expression pedal to the Octave to get a Whammy type effect.

    I made a recording of this video so I'd have something to play in my car while driving across the country last month.

    Appreciate this video! Really liked it when you added distortion. Now if only someone would do a video using the PX-101 with drums!

      I'm not a drummer, but I have a drum machine I can run through it. I may do that, if I do i'll link the video here.
